Adam Moyer, a senior from Calhoun High School was named Youth of the Month for January at the Calhoun Woman’s Club meeting held January 12th. Adam was nominated by two of his teachers, Marcus Palazzolo and Dr. Greg Stanley. Dr. Stanley’s recommendation states: Adam is without question an outstanding student and young man. His academic record is without rival. He is the most conscientious student I have ever taught. He always goes the extra 10 miles in everything he does. He is a very accomplished young man. He ranks at the top of his class. He is an Eagle Scout and holds a pilot’s license. He has been an absolute delight to teach and to know.
Mr. Palazzolo writes of Adam: He is a senior enrolled in the IB diploma program and maintains excellent academic standings. Adam has shown a work ethic that ensures his success in academics. The quality of work that Adam completes is always thorough and detailed. He participates in Band, Ocean Bowl and has a part time job while excelling in school activities. Adam always has insightful views when discussing his classwork in biology.
Adam has just been named Calhoun High School’s STAR student. He is actively involved in community service activities, he is a member of the Thespian Society, Concert Band, Jazz Band, on the Academic and High Q teams, he was on the Cross Country Team and plays Varsity Tennis. He completed the Calhoun/Gordon County Youth Leadership training and is president of the National Honor Society. He is the son of Ed and Lori Moyer, and has a sister Rachel, who attends North Georgia College.
He has not yet decided on which college he will attend, but he plans to major in Aeronautical Engineering.
