Voluntary Action Center was the big winner in the Cans from Fans competition.  When time was called Calhoun High School came up a mere 9 cans short of Sonoraville.  Congratulations Sonoraville!  Just wait till next year.  A total of 15,704 cans were donated.  Dakota Rasbury and Jonathan Lovins sought donations from family and friends and brought in over a thousand cans. The springs on Dakota’s truck were pushed to the limit with this enormous load.  Family Advocate Kippi Waldon put in a great deal of sweat equity on this project as well, and the CHS VOCA students helped sort, count and arrange the bounty at the VAC.  Shaw transport provided the trailer. Though CHS didn’t win the championship, both schools proved they are winners in the “generous hearts” competition.
