Tiffany Strawser of Calhoun Middle School was the last speller standing at the Calhoun City School District Spelling Bee. Eighteen students from Calhoun Elementary and Calhoun Middle converged at the Calhoun Civic Auditorium for the annual event, a test of words and will. All spellers displayed great vocabulary skills and poise under pressure. Strawser prevailed, with back-to-back correct spellings to win this year’s bee. This year’s runner up is Madison Bunch.
