Congratulations to all of our Teachers of the Year. Mana Smith teaches kindergarten EIP students at Calhoun Primary School. Jerry Pruett teaches physical education at Calhoun Elementary School and coaches the girl's basketball team at Calhoun High School. Laura Payne teaches 9-12 Family and Consumer Sciences at Calhoun High School and is senior class sponsor. Michelle Doane teaches eighth grade language arts and social studies at Calhoun Middle School and was selected as the 2007-2008 System Teacher of the Year. Prior to the August Board of Education meeting the honorees were introduced by their respective principals, given a gift of appreciation and recognized by school board members. The reception was well attended by the friends, families and colleagues of the honorees. We are proud of all of our teachers who continue to make a difference in the lives of children.
