Next year, CHS will send its third consecutive delegation of faculty and upper division students to this stellar research opportunity which is jointly funded by the ORNL and the Appalachian Regional Commission. These students were screened by Governor Purdue’s Office, the Department of Community Affairs, security offices at the US Department of Energy, and GACHE (Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education at NGCSU in Dahlonega). In about six weeks, Calhoun High will receive application packets for next year’s institute. This year’s alumni of the institute were: Class of 2008: Richard Huie, Class of 2009: Candy Cason and Cody Franks.
