Lockheed GA Employees Federal Credit Union employees wanted the funds they have collected locally through Operation Donation, to benefit the special needs students of Calhoun City Schools. The funds that they earned locally were also matched by the home office.
"We will use these funds in a variety of ways to benefit students with disabilities. Primarily these funds will be used to augment our Community Based Vocational Instructional Program. This program teaches students with disabilities prevocational job skills to assist them in transitioning from school to employment. Additionally, we will target assistive technology student needs in our preschool special education program and to improve school and community relations though parent involvement activities and initiatives." explained Greg Petersen, Special Education Director and Title I Coordinator for Calhoun City Schools. "This check representing all of Lockheed GEFCU's hard work and generosity will benefit our students all year long."
