CHS's GCSA members win big!!!!!

     Calhoun High School had 39 students competing in the Georgia Career Students Assocation (GCSA) Region Competition at North Metro Tech on Friday, February 15th. Of those 39 competitors 27 qualified to attend the State Competition in April of this year in Jekyll Island. Those going on to compete at Jekyll are: Kody Parker, Agricultural Science 1st place; Chapter of the Year, Superior rating Daisy Guillen; Child Care and Development 2nd place, Miriam Becerra; Communication Skills 2nd place, Candy Cespedes; Community/Civic Awareness 2nd place, Derikas Hines, Ashton Dorsey and Brittney Geary; Computer Applications 3rd place Kyra Harris; Culinary Arts 1st place, Courtney Hall; Fashion Design 1st place, Brittany Vaughn; Graphic Arts 1st place, Jesus Topete; Mathematical Applications 2nd place Maya Watkins; Natural Resource Management 1st place, Matthew Widener; Opening and Closing Ceremony; 1st place, Erica Mays, Melfin Rodriguez, Marilyn Echeverria, Diana Guzman, Javier Villalobos, and Javier Salazar; School project 2nd place, Brent Ivey, Anthony Salvatore, Shaq Evans, Delano Higginbotham and Katrice Royster; Video Production, Amanda Dodson, Nichole Ingle and Yesenia Rosas. 
   These students will depart for Jekyll on April 2 and will take this time to finely tune their skills and projects in hopes of bringing home more awards from State. Calhoun High School’s GCSA is sponsored by Lynn Davis and Polly Brown
