CMS Success Fest is the place to be

     CMS are not only the initials for Calhoun Middle School, but also the initials to success at school.
Come to school
Make good grades
Stay out of trouble
     When CMS students achieve this goal, they get to participate in the Success Fest. The Success Fest is an afternoon of fun at school, and a break from all the hard work in the classroom. Prizes, games, inflatable slides, karaoke and being able to chill out with friends was the order of the afternoon of February 28th. The CMS gym was full of squeals, music and lots of successful students. Assistant Principal, Sherry Campbell, said, "All the fun, games and prizes would not be possible without the generosity of our PTO and local businesses and merchants." Free haircuts were given by Gabriel Hill Salon and Barbara Madison Salon, gift certificates and gift cards came from Pokey’s, WalMart, Firehouse Gym, and The Yard. Cash awards were sponsored by PTO and The Piano Experts." Winners of the events and prize drawings were: Travis Hall and Nayeli Perez, haircut from Gabriel Hill Salon;
Seth Johnson and Kaitlyn Smith, free haircut from Barbara Madison Salon;
Ralem Eohmd and Nicole Perin, month pass to Firehouse Gym; Christian Tinsley and Kenia Quintos, free lesson at THE Yard,
Katelyn Langston, Karen Herrera, Dyamond Thompson, Tori Wilson, Dillon Long, Montana Grant Wimberly Roe and Zach Patterson received homework passes;
Selena Avalos and Martin Avila won $10 WalMart gift cards;
the basketball shoot winner was Carlos Avalos and he received a basketball;
Football throw was won by Brett Moss and he got a football;
the soccer kick and winning soccer ball went to Josh Fabor;
giant jars of cheeseballs were won by Hunter Rasbury and Magen Pinyon;
a $50 WalMart card was given to the Karaoke winner, Alissa Genovesse;
and the lunch off campus with a friend and teacher of choice was won by Ryan Moss.
     This is really a terrific incentive for students to do well in school and it is fun for teachers and students as well.
