Four Calhoun Middle School students traveled to West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia for the 2009 State Technology Fair on Saturday, March 14, 2009. This state competition has students representing over 12 regions with over 60 schools state-wide, including public, private and home-schooled. Three CMS students placed at the fair. They were: Vruj Patel: 1st place in the 7th and 8th grade Non-Animated Graphic Design category with his "Floating Island" project. Unique Sardeneta: 2nd place in the 5th and 6th grade Non-Animated Graphic Design category with her "Art Can Be Technology" project. Wil Ahrens: 3rd place in the 7th and 8th grade Case Modification category with his "Auburn Tigers" project.

Unique Sardeneta, Vruj Patel, Wil Ahrens and Hannah Knight represented Calhoun Middle School at the State Tech Fair.
