I will be teaching math, science, and social studies this year. In math students will learn to be problem solvers. Students will learn that problems can actually be solved in many different ways and that the process of solving problems is just as important as the answer. Students will continue to develop skills in addition, subtraction, and multiplication and will be introduced to division. Mastering multiplication facts is an important goal for 3rd grade students. In science students will learn about rocks, minerals, and soils, fossils, heat, magnets, and plants and animals of Georgia. There will be an educational Field Trip to the Tellus Museum that your child will not want to miss! In social studies students will be learning about the branches and levels of our United States government and they will also learn about key Americans that helped to develop our civil rights such as Susan B. Anthony, Thurgood Marshall, and Cesar Chavez.
