Jason Hawkins is in his 16^th year of working for Calhoun City Schools. Mr. Hawkins is a lifelong Calhoun resident and a product of Calhoun City Schools. He began his career with the school system in 1993 and has worked in maintenance, after school programs, Community Education, substitute teaching, classroom teaching, and administration. This is Mr. Hawkins’ second year of administration. He served as Assistant Principal at Calhoun Elementary School in the 2008-2009 school year. Mr. Hawkins has served on the CES and CPS Better Seeker Teams, was a member of the initial CLASS (leadership academy) group, and co-sponsor for FCA among other school activities. Additionally, he has been recognized as Calhoun Elementary School "Teacher of the Year" and has served on the Teacher Advisory Board for State School Superintendent Kathy Cox  Mr. Hawkins is also involved in civic and community affairs such as United Way, Boys and Girls Club, Gordon County Camber of Commerce "Drugs Don’t Work", and "Education Committee"  and is a member of the Calhoun Touchdown Club. Mr. Hawkins is also a proud graduate of the Gordon County Leadership Class of 2009.   

Mr. Hawkins’ wife Candi is a teacher at Calhoun Pre-K. They have a daughter, Bailey Beth. She was born on July 23^rd. The Hawkins family attends New Town Baptist Church. Mr. Hawkins’ hobbies include Calhoun Yellow Jackets Sports, UGA Bulldogs Football, Star Wars Collecting, Sports Memorabilia and Autograph Collecting, Anything Involving Elvis Presley, Watching Movies, Listening to Music, and Spending Time With His Family and Friends.
