Welcome to the home of CMS golf!  We do have separate golf programs for boys and girls that have a winning  tradition with frequent championships as evidence of our success. Most importantly we strive to teach the following attributes that the game of golf teaches that can improve our student athletes’ chances to be successful in the game of life: honesty/character, confidence, composure, focus, courage and good communication.  Important  Notes:

-Signups for fall tryouts will begin on the first day of school (Aug.14th). For anyone not already having a current sports physical (Nov.2012 or more recent) on file with CMS will need to get this and submitted to Coach Gresham before anyone comes to tryouts that officially begin Monday Aug. 19th.

 -Other paperwork needed for all players and physical forms will be made available right after school near the CMS front office Aug. 14th & 15^th. On Aug. 15^th if paperwork is filled out and you have a physical turned in you may practice that day and prepare or get instruction for tryouts beginning Mon. Aug. 19^th.

-Tryouts will last of 3 to 5 days; further playoffs could be possible (weather and course permitting). Cuts may occur after each day of tryouts.  Do realize more 6^th graders have a chance to make team with lower levels of skill than upper grades. In the past, we have kept at least 5-6 girls and 10-12 boys after cut 

 -Tryouts will be at Calhoun Elks Club on Mondays & Fields Ferry Golf Course on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning @approximately 4:00 until 6:30ish(unless told otherwise). Parents that need my cell # may request it to get information to kids.

 -For those that are unaware, players are responsible for getting their own ride to and from practice and need their own golf equipment, pull carts are encouraged.

-Parents in the past, I have received invaluable help from those of  you that know how to keep score, know basic rules on the golf course to help the kids keep accurate scores during tryouts, as I obviously can’t watch each group….please contact me if you would like to help!
