Hello! My name is Cheryl Henderson. I am very excited to be working with your child this year. Once again, I will have the opportunity to work side by side Ms. Jamie Holcomb. Ms. Holcomb will be teaching math, science and social studies and I will teach your child reading, writing and language arts. I received my associates degree from Young Harris College in 1987. I went on to receive a bachelors degree in 1989 from the University of Georgia (Unfortunately I’m not a DAWG fan!) and returned back to college to obtain my masters degree from the University of West Georgia. I am beginning my 22nd year of teaching. During my teaching at CES, I have also obtained my gifted endorsement. I also have the pleasure of working with my husband Coach Chip Henderson who teaches Physical Education here at CES! Chip is also the head baseball coach and assistant girls fast pitch coach at CHS. We are the proud parents of two daughters. Our oldest daughter Cassie is in the 7th grade and Carlie is a 4th grader at CES. We are very active in traveling with both of our daughters fast pitch teams as well as attending many extracurricular activities at CMS. In the spring you can always find us on the baseball field cheering on the Yellow Jackets and our “Coach”!
We attend Trinity Baptist Church where I sing in the choir and Chip serves as an usher. I am a yellow jacket through and through from the black and gold of Calhoun to the blue and gold of Georgia Tech. GO JACKETS!
