The mission of Calhoun Elementary School is for all students to achieve success.

At Calhoun Elementary School we envision responsible and respectful students who are committed to success in all that they do; we envision ethical and effective teachers who collaboratively design engaging learning experiences for all students; and we envision productive partnerships with parents and community.

Beliefs
  1. We believe all students are capable of achieving success academically, socially, physically, and emotionally.
  2. We believe it is the responsibility of the staff, parents, and community to help each child reach his/her highest level of achievement.
  3. We believe classroom climate should be supportive, challenging, nurturing, and be well equipped with resources to meet student needs. 
  4. We believe children should be encouraged by staff, family, and community to demonstrate self-esteem, self-respect, and respect for others.
  5. We believe students should be taught responsibility by being prepared for class which will enable them to be successful in future employment and life long learning.
  6. We believe children should use higher order thinking skills while being active learners in the classroom.
  7. We believe all children should receive services based on individual needs.
  8. We believe appropriate behavior should be rewarded and inappropriate behavior should be dealt with in a fair and consistent manner.
