Congratulations Mr. Hawkins! Will you still be teaching fourth grade?

This new role will be my full time position at Calhoun Elementary. While I will not be teaching 4th grade every day, I still plan to get in the classrooms as often as posisble and be a part of all of the wonderful things our teachers are doing with our amazing students. Hopefully they will let me frequently teach classroom lessons to stay in close contact with the students and teachers of our awesome school. The new school year promises to be very exciting and I pledge to do everything I can to assure that each day is in fact "The Best Day of the School Year."

Having known Mr. Roach since the late eighties, I know that he will do the absolute best job that can be done for the students of CES. I don't believe that there could be another individual that posesses his love of children, education, and character that makes him who he is. CES rejoice! You have landed a saint!

Yesterday was my first day to "experience" C.E.S. The experience was uplifting. Mr. Jason Hawkins was so friendly and informative. He is and will be a great leader. My granddaughter entered 4th grade and has Ms. Long and Mrs. Trimble. I am impressed with both teachers. Ms. Long was very welcoming and forthcoming with explanations of how the school and her classroom operate. She is professional and obviously enjoys teaching. Mrs. Trimble was in her element teaching and used 100% of the class time teaching. Being a retired teacher myself, I am very interested in my granddaughters education and I see that she will be getting a quality one at Calhoun Elementary School. I look forward to volunteering every week.

It was a pleasure meeting you and talking yesterday Mrs. Smelcer. I really appreciate the kind words you offered about our school. We are all on the same team here and the partnership between home and school is something we value tremendously. We always look forward to having parents/volunteers in the building and please do not hesitate to call upon us if there is ever ANYTHING we can do to assist. It is our distinct pleasure to serve.

Assistant Principal
