ELA
As readers, sixth graders begin to experience more sophisticated pieces of literature for study and analysis. They will be expected to read 25 books from different genres found in the school library. As writers, sixth graders will continue to develop their own individual voices and styles. They will also learn to analyze and edit their own and others’ writing to include basic conventions studied throughout the year.
As oral communicators, sixth graders will practice oral performances through role- play and apply specific guidelines to their speaking assignments.
