Hello! I am Katie Mason, and I will have the honor of teaching your child 7th grade math this year! I have always wanted to be a teacher, and can truly say that I love teaching. I even used to love helping my teachers grade papers and help other students. After high school, I entered Dalton State College where I pursued a degree in Early Childhood Education. Immediately after receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from DSC, I entered Berry College to begin work on my Master’s Degree. Dalton State College taught me all of the basics of being a great teacher and gave me the opportunity to work in many different school districts. However when I found Calhoun City Schools, I knew that this was where I wanted to work. I wanted to be a YELLOW JACKET!! This will be my third year as a Yellow Jacket, and I have since finished my Master’s. I am very focused on helping your child master all of our 7th grade math standards, and I am excited to get our year off to a strong start. I also have been given the opportunity to coach Volleyball and led our girls to numerous victories last year. We look forward to carrying on that tradition of excellence this year!
In my life outside of school, I like to spend time with my husband, Daniel. We like to ride through the mountains in our Jeep or on our 4-wheeler. We are surrounded by animals (because we live on a farm in almost the middle of no where). We have cows next door, a horse (Rodeo), an inside dog (Zoe), an outside dog (Flossie), and about 100,000 chickens (The chickens do not have names ). I look forward to meeting all of my students, and I can’t wait to learn more about them.
