Meet Mr. Murry
Hello!  My name is Brant Murry and I will have the privilege of teaching your child Math this school year.  This year will be my 3rd year of teaching and 2nd year at Calhoun Middle School.  I am a graduate of Dalton State College where I earned my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.  I am Highly Qualified in Middle Grades Math and also hold an ESOL Endorsement.  Currently, I am enrolled at Georgia Southern University in pursuit of my Masters Degree in Technology in Teaching.  I also coach Cross Country here at Calhoun Middle and also coach Track and Field at Calhoun High School.  I love the outdoors, being active, and spending time with my family.   I look forward to the new school year, and feel free to contact me if any questions arise.

Coaching Career
I am in my 6th year of coaching Track at Calhoun High School.  My first four years I served as the assistant coach and began serving as the head coach the beginning of my 5th year.  During my tenure, we have collected 2 Region Runner-Up finishes (as assistant coach) and 1 Region Championship (as head coach).  We have sent 16 individuals to the State Meet and 2 of those individuals have produced Top 5 finishes.  I am also in my 2nd year of Cross Country at Calhoun Middle School.  During my first season, our boys’ took home Region Runner-Up honors while girls took home 4th place.  2 of those men took home Top 5 honors and 1 lady also took home Top 5 honors.

Class Introduction
As the ELT Math teacher, it is my responsibility to help the student make-up any gaps there may be in Math.  I will look at where each individual student struggles and create an individualized plan based on what the students need the most.  We will do a lot of “hands on learning” and “learning by doing” throughout the school year.
