Meet Mr. McCanless
Hello!  My name is Josh McCanless and I have the honor of serving as your child’s assistant principal this year at CMS.  I did my undergraduate work at Rhodes College in Memphis Tennessee where I received my B.S. degree in Biology.  After that I pursued a Ph.D. in genetics at Emory University where I realized that I wanted to be in the teaching profession.  I taught science at the high school level for 19 years.  During that time I obtained my Masters degree in Education from West Georgia and my Education Specialist degree from Berry College.  After receiving my Ed.S. degree I became an assistant principal at CMS.  This will be my third year in administration.  I have been happily married to my wife Lisa for 22 years and we have two children Michael (16) and Matthew (9) who are students in Calhoun City Schools.  I enjoy researching and discovering civil war history in the local area.  I thank you for the opportunity to help guide your children through their middle school experience and look forward to meeting and talking with you in the upcoming school year.
