CMS Basketball = Champions!

The CMS Varsity Jackets defeated Cass Middle School on Saturday 42-35.  The win clinched the BGMSAA region championship.  Kaelan Riley led the Jackets with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.  Ray Reeves netted 10 points.  Jack DeFoor scored 9 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.  Chapin Rierson scored 8 points and pulled down 11 rebounds along with 5 assists.  Ethan Woodard rounded out the scoring with 4 points.  The Jackets finished the season with a 16 and 1 record.

The CMS JV Jackets finished as the BGMSAA region runner-up with a loss to Cartersville Middle School.  Dylan Greeson led the Jackets with 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Malik Lawrence netted 11 points and pulled down 4 rebounds.  Rhett Abernathy scored 5 points.  Kade Wright and Austin Trammell scored 2 points each.  The JV Jackets finished the season with a 13 and 4 record.

The JV Girls lost to Cartersville 34-40 in the Region Championship game on Saturday.

Michaela Winters had her best game of the season as she scored 17 pts. and pulled down 22 reb.  Erin Hyatt scored 9 pts., Maddie Bumgardner 4 pts., Ryan Brzozoski 2 pts. and Jessica Raines scored 2 pts. and pulled down 13 reb. 

The JV Girls ended their season with a 15-2 record.

The Varsity Girls played outstanding defense on Saturday as they claimed the Region Championship by defeating Sonoraville 31-27.

Sydnie Parker led the way as she scored 12 pts., pulled down 13 reb. and had 7 blocked shots.  Also scoring were Jana Johns with 10 pts., Ashlyn Barnes, Madison Green, Madeline Murray and Brittanie Bakken with 2 pts. each and Alexis Nalley with 1 pt. 

Madeline Murray, Brittanie Bakken, Alexis Nalley and Jana Johns grabbed 6 reb. each while Madison Green snatched 3 steals.

The Varsity Girls ended their season with a 16-1 record.

Coach Smith wants to thank everyone for their support this season.
