Hello! I am Mrs. Burgess, and I am very excited to be working with your EL (English Learners). This is my 17th year teaching at Calhoun Elementary. Prior to this, I worked in contract sales and research and development for the carpet industry. Once I had my children, I decided my heart belonged elsewhere, and that of course was teaching. I became certified in elementary education and completed my masters and specialist degrees. I am married to Tom Burgess; together we have four grown children along with four grandchildren. Corbin (7), Wesley (7), Zachary (8) months, and Remi (2) months. Our fifth grandchild is on the way, and will be born in February 2012. I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, biking, kayaking, gardening, reading and family time. I am certified in ESOL and love teaching children of other languages.
