Meet Mrs. Arnold
Hello! My name is Kendra Arnold and I will be your child’s science teacher this year. This will be my seventh year teaching science at Calhoun High School and my first year as science department chair. I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 1999 with a degree in education and I have been teaching high school science for the past twelve years. My husband and I have been married for twelve years as well. He is a teacher and coach in the Calhoun City Schools system. We have one child and he will be in kindergarten this year. Our family loves sports and we spend much of our time watching and cheering on the Calhoun Yellow Jackets! I am very passionate about education and I love teaching. Please contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. Also, check your inbox for email reminders from me about upcoming assignments, tests, due dates, etc.

Class Introduction
I am excited about this school year and I will be teaching three different courses Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and Physics. Students in Chemistry will be expected to draw knowledge from their previous Physical Science class. We will be focusing on matter, its composition and properties with an overview of stoichiometry. In Honors Chemistry we will cover units on matter, its composition and properties as well as energy transformations, gas laws and stoichiometric relationships. Physics is a senior level science class where we will cover units on matter, energy, motion, electricity, and waves. Please note that all three of the above mentioned classes will connect science concepts to mathematical applications, particularly Honors Chemistry and Physics! I am available before and after school for those students who may have questions or need additional help so PLEASE take advantage of this opportunity. I will do all that I can to help my students have a successful year.
