Calhoun Middle School Technology Fair

 

Calhoun Middle School hosted its 4th annual Technology Fair. Sponsored by the CMS Better Seeker Technology Committee, this contest is designed to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of technology in Calhoun City Schools.

 

To kick off the Tech Fair, CMS conducted a logo contest in which students participated. Ethan Burnett was the winner, receiving a iTunes gift card as the prize along with his logo printed on the Tech Fair t-shirt. The Tech Fair committee is very excited about the potential this contest holds and the opportunity for students to show off the skills they have developed in this field.

 

Each category received ribbons for first and second place. The categories were judged on five criteria: originality, clarity, documentation, appropriateness, and design.

 

In 6th Grade Multimedia:

1st place: Danny Lopez

2nd place: Danny Lopez

 

In 6th Grade Case Modification:

1st place: Allie Baldwin

 

In 6th Grade Robotics:

1st place: Danny Lopez

 

In 7th and 8th Grade Hardware:

1st place: Team of Hannah Knight and Wil Ahrens

 

In 7th and 8th Non-Animated Digital Graphic

1st place: Unique Sardeneta

 

In 7th and 8th Grade Digital Video:

1st place: Team of Wil Ahrens and Luver Lopez

2nd place: Team of Garison Baker and Dylan Lawson

 

Students who placed first in each category and grade division will compete in the region technology fair January 30, 2010.
