Meet Mrs. Galyean
My name is India Galyean and I love teaching at Calhoun Middle School! I have worked in the arts professionally for almost twenty years and I’m so excited to bring my experience into your child’s classroom. After graduating from Harding University, my husband, Hugh, and I moved to New York City, where I worked as an actor and singer for ten years. We now live on my family’s farm in Resaca with our three children, Ava, Adrian and Selah. I still continue to sing with several groups from Nashville to Atlanta and I hope to encourage a lifelong passion for the arts in my students.
Class Introduction
In chorus class, students learn proper choral technique, sight singing and part singing in a fun and friendly environment. We sing a wide variety of music for our concerts in the fall and winter. Every spring we present the CMS Musical which has grown to be an extravagant production! Many students join chorus just to participate in group singing and to explore their interest in music but serious students have the opportunity to participate in advanced events like All State and Honor Chorus.
