Calhoun Middle 6th grade enjoys celebration

Thank you to the teachers who went above and beyond to prepare and present their music at the 6th grade's celebration social. A well deserved thanks goes out to  THE BAND; Mr. Miles, Mr. Medders, Coach Rigney, Mr. Knight and Richie Parker. The kids absolutely loved the music that these guys brought! Also, Ms. Hallock let her hair down and sang one out with Mr. Medders backing her up. The 6th grade teachers came together for a finale of YMCA which prompted the kids to flood the platform as they performed the arm motions that go along with the song.

Karaoke was also a blast! We heard a broad range of talent that included the likes of Jordon Fuquea singing "On Top of Old Smokey," Austin Byrd with James Brown's  "I Feel Good" and Brandon Clark and friends with "Soul Man."

The kids reveled in victories in the tug-a-war tournament and competed for top scores in the toilet-seat toss. Mr. Land's class proved to be unbeatable in the tug-a-war contest. To help cool things down the kids all enjoyed free slushies. Popcorn was also available for everyone. As if there wasn't enough excitement for one afternoon, the kids also got to play on a giant inflatable slide.
Our PTO was very pleased with the success of the CMS fundraiser. They should also be thanked for their willingness to help out with today's celebration social. They worked this afternoon at the various posts to see to it that things went smoothly and that the kids were safe. tug a war.JPG
