CES/CPS hold art show and sale

March 10th was an evening of art appreciation at the Calhoun Elementary/Primary School complex. Our school system’s young budding artists had a show and sale to benefit the schools' art programs. First Art Works Company of Alpharetta provides this unique fundraising opportunity. Each student works to create an individual piece of art for the show. First Art Works frames each piece for display and sets up the event. The framed art works are available for purchase by moms, dads, grandparents etc. PTO members acted as guides and provided festive post show refreshments in the commons area of the complex.

Initial estimates of proceeds for each school’s art department were approximately $1300 on the elementary side, and nearly $2000 on the primary side.  CES art teacher, Marcie Childress, and CPS teacher, Connie Ross agreed this event was well worth all the effort of those involved. " I would like to thank PTO, parent volunteers, teachers, custodial staff and the students for working hard and doing their best to make an undertaking of this magnitude possible I’m looking forward to a bigger and better show/sale next year!" commented Ms. Ross.
