If Ms. Mary’s (Douglas) and Ms. Kelly’s (Fuquea), classes are the bellwether for today’s election Barack Obama will be the next president of the United States by a narrow margin. The combined vote of the two classes was 19 votes for McCain and 21 votes for Obama.
Pre K students went through the voting process just like their parents today. They presented a picture ID, signed the voter list, received a ballot, went into a voting booth marked their ballot and put their ballots into the ballot box. The votes were tallied and the students counted the tallies.
When asked why they voted today, some of the responses were: "Because today is voting day." and "Because I have this shirt on." Remember these are four year olds. When asked who they voted for the response was, "you’re not supposed to tell". When all is said and done, these little people learned a valuable lesson about our duty to vote and about the process at a very early age.
Ms. Mary's class begins tallying the votes.

And the winner is....
