Calhoun Middle School held a Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, November 11 in their gym. Local Veterans were invited to enjoy a program led by students. The Veterans were welcomed by Principal, Bob Orfield. Kelli Fowler sang the National Anthem, patriotic songs were sung by CMS choral students; the Civil Air Patrol, United States Air Force Auxiliary led by 1st Lt. Matt Kennedy did the posting of the Colors, and TAPS was played by band director Larry Brown. Each Veteran stood and told what branch of service they served in and their military assignment. There were representatives from World War II to present day retirees. Students were able to express their gratitude to our Veterans on this special day in a very special and meaningful way.
