Calhoun Middle School hosted its 4^th annual Technology Fair. Sponsored by the CMS Better Seeker Technology Committee, this contest is designed to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of technology in Calhoun City Schools. To kick off the Tech Fair, CMS conducted a logo contest in which students participated. Ethan Burnett was the winner, receiving an iTunes gift card as the prize along with his logo printed on the Tech Fair t-shirt. The Tech Fair committee is very excited about the potential this contest holds and the opportunity for students to show off the skills they have developed in this field. Each category received ribbons for first and second place. The categories were judged on five criteria: originality, clarity, documentation, appropriateness, and design.

In 6^th Grade Robotics: 1^st place: Danny Lopez

In 7^th and 8^th Grade Hardware: 1^st place: Team of Hannah Knight and Wil Ahrens

In 7^th and 8^th Non-Animated Digital Graphic: 1^st place: Unique Sardeneta

In 7^th and 8^th Grade Digital Video: 1^st place: Team of Wil Ahrens and Luver Lopez and 2^nd place: Team of Garison Baker and Dylan Lawson

Students who placed first in each category and grade division traveled to Teasley Middle School in Canton on Saturday, January 30, to compete in the region fair. Students placing first at the region fair and advancing to the state tech fair in March were: Allie Baldwin in Case Modification; Danny Lopez in Multimedia; Team of Hannah Knight and Wil Ahrens in Hardware; and Team of Luver Lopez and Wil Ahrens in Digital Video.
