Dr. Tricia Waters began her career teaching math at Calhoun Elementary School. For 13 years, Dr. Waters taught in Calhoun City Schools from 3rd grade through 6th grade. After 13 years with Calhoun schools, she served as a math coach at Rome City Schools for one year before moving to the Rome City Schools district office to serve as the Math/Science coordinator for 3 years. She came home to the Calhoun City Schools family in 2021 as an Instructional Specialist and now serves as the Instructional Coordinator for Math, Science, and the Gifted Programs. She is dedicated to supporting Calhoun City School teachers and instructional coaches to ensure students have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential in and out of the classroom.
Dr. Waters holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Alaska-Anchorage, a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from Berry College, a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University. She also holds math, science, gifted, coaching, and online teaching endorsements. She embraces the idea of lifelong learning, so she is always open to pursuing new learning opportunities.
Both of Dr. Waters’ children attended Calhoun City Schools K-12. Her husband, Steven, is also a graduate of CHS and is an associate pastor now at Calhoun First Baptist Church. In her free time, Ms. Waters loves to spend time with a book on a beach or playing with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Charlie.
