Heather McCrone
Director of Exceptional Student Services
Ms. Heather McCrone has been with Calhoun City Schools for one year where she began as the Exceptional Student Services Specialist in July of 2021 and was promoted to Exceptional Student Services Director in December of 2021. She began her teaching career in Muscogee County School District where she worked for 22 years serving in multiple roles to include general education teacher, special education teacher, Lead LEA Facilitator, and Program for Exceptional Students West Region Program Manager. She has been with Calhoun City Schools for one year where she began as the Exceptional Student Services Specialist and was promoted to Exceptional Student Services Director in December of 2021. She is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Calhoun-Gordon County. She is dedicated to supporting the students, teachers, administration, and parents of Calhoun City Schools and the community at large.
Ms. McCrone holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Columbus State University, Master of Science in Education and Educational Specialist from Troy State University as well as obtained an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. She also holds gifted, special education, dyslexia, and teacher support and coaching endorsements. She considers herself a lifelong learner where valuable lessons can be found outside the walls of a classroom.
Heather recently moved to Gordon County and has enjoyed learning about the Calhoun community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching UGA football, going to the movies, traveling especially to the beach, testing out the latest recipes in the kitchen, retail therapy, reading, and volunteering in various organizations.
