Board of Directors
We are pleased to have a committed board of directors for the Calhoun College & Career Academy. These dedicated professionals represent areas of industry in the local community and serve the primary mission of Calhoun City Schools, to inspire all students to become lifelong learners in the pursuit of excellence. The Calhoun College & Career Academy contributes to this mission primarily through it's work in promoting students who are college and career ready.

Bud Owens, Chairman
Bud Owens is the Executive Director of Emergency Services for Floyd Healthcare Management Inc. He serves as the executive leader of operations in Floyd and Polk County, Georgia as well as Cherokee County, Alabama. Bud also has the privilege of serving on the Gordon County Commision as an elected commissioner, and has done so for the past 2 years. As chairman of the Calhoun College and Career Academy Board of Directors, Bud coordinates the actions of the board of directors in support of the mission of the academy. He is married to Vicki Owens, and in their 35 years they have raised three graduates of Calhoun High School and have two grandchildren.
Scott Fletcher, Vice Chair
Scott Fletcher is the Chief Operating Officer of Textile Management Associates. With a strategic and operations focus, Scott manages the board of his organization while operating a successful business. He has been with Textile Management Associates for fourteen years. Scott is married to Amy, his wife of 28 years, and they have two children. One of their children is currently enrolled at Calhoun High School while the other graduated CHS and is currently at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Joseph Joyave
Dr. Joyave is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director for Gordon Physician Group, a part of the Adventist Health System. In his role he manages provider performance with a focus on patient experience, quality of care and safety. Dr. Joyave owned and operated his own pediatric clinic in Calhoun for twelve years prior to his current position. He is the father of four Calhoun High School graduates and has five grandchildren. He is married to his wife of three years, Sharon.
Pam Clayton, RN-BC, LNHA
Pam serves as the Vice President of Quality Advancement and Regulatory Affairs for the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA). In this capacity, she provides support to over 350 skilled nursing care and assisted living centers. Pam has more than 20 years’ experience serving the long term and post-acute care profession both as a clinician and as a senior leader. Prior to joining GHCA, she worked with a nonprofit organization providing operational and clinical direction to over 50 skilled nursing care centers within a regional health delivery system. She has extensive experience in strategic planning; compliance; system development and improvement; and care innovations to improve patient outcomes and customer experience. In her free time, Pam enjoys travel with her husband David and their children, Matthew and Andrew.
Current Chair of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, Jim Rosencrance is a former Vice President of General Dynamics, Satcom Technologies Division. He spent 45 years in the manufacturing industry and is committed to the service of his community. He has overseen the production of a multitude of products with various companies across the US. He is married to Diane Rosencrance, his wife of 52 years. They have two children, both graduates of Calhoun High School.
Larry is a long-term employee of the City of Calhoun where he currently serves as the Utility Administrator. In his role, he managed water, waste-water, electric distribution, and telecommunication for the City of Calhoun for more than 27 years. He is married to his wife Carol, of 46 years, and they have two children who graduated from Calhoun High School, in addition to their five grandchildren.
Jim is the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer for Mohawk Industries. In his role, he is responsible for a global accounting system, internal and external financial reporting, annual audits, and the liaison to the MHK Audit Committee & North American Continuous Improvement & Share Service team. He has served Mohawk Industries for the past 12 years. He is the husband of Michele Brunk, of 35 years, and they have two daughters and four grandchildren
Tom is the Dean of Public Service Technologies at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. His primary role is to oversee and supervise programs and faculty in cosmetology, criminal justice, basic law enforcement, social work, early childhood education, and culinary arts. He has been with GNTC for the past sixteen years and is committed to the local community in which he serves. He is a former police instructor and has always been involved in some form of education. He is married with two children, all of whom work in the area of education.
Chris is the Senior Lender with North Georgia National Bank and the current President of the Gordon County United Way. He is a graduate of Calhoun High School and has a son who is currently enrolled at Calhoun Middle School. Chris has served in the banking and finance community for the duration of his career and has always made an effort to serve on local civic organizations.
