Enrollment Process and Criteria for Admission
Application Process
- Students who desire enrollment in the Calhoun Online Learning Academy should first complete an online application. The COLA Application will open on March 16, 2022. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2022.
- The student and the parent will need a valid email account and phone number listed on the application. Communications and announcements are sent via email.
- It is recommended that you speak to a CMS or CHS Counselor or the COLA Director before your child begins the application process so they can answer any questions you may have regarding COLA.
Upon submission of application:
- Your application will be reviewed by the a review team that includes the COLA Advisory Board. The following student information is considered after your application is received:
- Student Grades
- Student Attendance
- Behavior
- Purpose for Application
Notification:
- After review of your child's application, the student and parent/guardian will receive an email regarding the status of the student's application.
- Pending applications may require additional information and a face-to-face meeting with the school Counselor and/or Director.
**Recommended Admission Requirements:**
The successful student in an online learning environment should meet the following criteria:
- Above to high average grades
- Good Attendance
- No behavior issues in classroom setting
Please note: All middle school applications are for Home-School placement only. Honors courses are not available for middle school students.
