Alexander Fortenberry, former Calhoun High School Graduate, will be one of UVI’s first graduates in the physics program!
His impressive list of accomplishments demonstrates the rich opportunities that are now available to students through the PAARE Program. Alex’s interest in physics developed in high school, where he was required to develop tangible products and solve real-world problems using physics. After his sophomore year at UVI, Alex was employed as a summer and fall research student at the Etelman Observatory where he worked with data taken by the European Space Agency's (ESA) X-ray Multi-Mirror Mission and NASA’s Swift Satellite comparing gamma-ray burst data.
