Meet Mrs. Brown
My name is Sarah Brown and I am entering my 21st year teaching. I taught 2nd Grade for 19 years, and am looking forward to my second year teaching 3rd Grade. I knew from the time I was in Pre-K that I wanted to be a teacher and never looked back. I grew up in Marysville, Ohio. I moved South to attend Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2001. I then moved to Calhoun where I started teaching 2nd grade at Eastside Primary School (now Calhoun Primary). I continued my education at Piedmont College where I completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education and later my Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2009, I earned my Gifted Certification. Last year, I completed my Math Endorsement. This year, I plan to pursue my Reading Endorsement. My husband Brad and I live in Calhoun with our twelve year old daughter Ava, our Yellow Lab, Pearl and a cat named Rosie. Ava is in Sixth Grade and is excited to be at Calhoun Middle School this year. In my free time I love to read, scrapbook, and spend time with my family.
I am very excited about this school year! Third Grade no longer does team teaching-this means your child will have me for all subject areas. I encourage all of my students and parents to stay informed through the monthly class calendar and Remind 101. I love taking pictures and also have a school Shutterfly account that you can sign up for to see all of the fun stuff we are doing and learning in Third Grade. If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
