This is Mr. Brown’s 15th year of teaching in the Calhoun City School system and his 22nd overall.  He began his teaching career at Ashworth Middle School, in the Gordon County School System in 1996. Mr. Brown was born in Chattanooga, where he lived until beginning his teaching career in Georgia.  His son Drake works for Lowes in Athens, GA. Ana, his daughter, is serving in the United States Navy.

            Mr. Brown graduated from Chattanooga Central High School, and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University.  While at UT Chattanooga, Mr. Brown played the trumpet in many different ensembles.  He was a section leader and frequent soloist with the Marching Moccasins.  Mr. Brown remains an active performer.  He has played with The Usual Suspects, The Georgians, The Clock Tower Big Band, The Northwest Georgia Winds, The Roman Festival Brass, and The Chamber Players of the South from Rome, GA, and The Etowah Jazz Society in Cartersville, GA.
