Debate
The Calhoun Debate Team competes locally, state-wide, and nationally in many debate tournaments year-round, ranging from Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, and Congress debate formats. Members of the Calhoun Debate Team are eligible to receive NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) points which can earn a member special recognition through accumulation of points from competing in debate tournaments.
Calhoun City Schools have an outstanding tradition of excellence in interscholastic speech and debate. Calhoun is a charter member of national forensic associations, including the National Speech and Debate Association, the Georgia Forensics Coaches Association, and the Barkley Forum Society.
