Chorus

Class Introduction

In chorus class, students learn proper choral technique, sight singing and part singing in a fun and friendly environment. We sing a wide variety of music for our concerts in the fall and winter and Dessert Theatre in the spring features soloists in a cabaret setting. Many students join chorus just to participate in group singing and to explore their interest in music, but serious students have the opportunity to participate in advanced events like All State and Honor Chorus.

Meet Mrs. Galyean

India Galyean

My name is India Galyean and I love teaching at music at my alma mater!  As choral director for the whole campus, I'm excited to have an opportunity to work with my students throughout their middle and high school careers.

I have worked in the arts professionally for twenty years and I enjoy sharing my experience and love of performing in the classroom.  After graduating from Harding University, my husband, Hugh, and I moved to New York City, where I worked as an actor and singer for ten years.   I still continue to sing with several groups from Nashville to Atlanta and I hope to encourage a lifelong passion for the arts in my students.

My husband and I have three children: Selah, an 8th grader at CMS, Adrian, a 10th grader at CHS, and Ava, a CHS graduate. In our spare time, we love watching Harry Potter movies and going to Disney World!
