The Calhoun Debate Team competes locally, state-wide, and nationally in many debate tournaments  year-round, ranging from Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, and Congress debate formats. Members of the Calhoun Debate Team are eligible to receive NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) points which can earn a member special recognition through accumulation of points from competing in debate tournaments. 

Calhoun City Schools have an outstanding tradition of excellence in interscholastic speech and debate. Calhoun is a charter member of national forensic associations, including the National Speech and Debate Association, the Georgia Forensics Coaches Association, and the Barkley Forum Society. Calhoun debate alumni have an unparalleled record of national and local success.

Calhoun debate currently offers Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, and Big Question debate. Tournaments are based on availability and interest of coach and students.  For more information, email Mr. Bennett.
