My name is Beth Kelly. I am the Blue Cat teacher at the Pre- K. I have taught 3rd grade in Whitfield County at Valley Point Elementary and taught 2nd grade for Calhoun Primary School. I have been a stay at home mom for 10 years with my 3 children.

I am a high school graduate of Calhoun High School in 1994.  I attended the University of West Georgia and earned a Bachelors in Science in Early Childhood Education in 1999. I have a ESOL certificate attached to my degree to certify that I can work with students as English as a second language.  I was married to my husband, Kurt Kelly in July of 1999. We have a farm with 6 chicken houses, cattle, and a sod farm.  I enjoy working with children and seeing them progress in learning and social development!

Ms. Maria Reyes

Hello, my name is Maria Reyes. I’m the assistant teacher in the Blue Cats classroom. I am proud to be part of the Yellow Jacket family where I have been teaching after working during my internship. My husband Gerardo and I have four daughters, Bianka, Valery,  Vivian, and Vexy.   We are also proud grandparents to our handsome grandsons Leonel and Iker.

I earned my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Northwestern Technical College and stared working towards my Bachelor’s degree at Western Governors University. I have always had a passion for teaching and I’m extremely happy to be a part of this school system. I love working with preschool students and I believe that this is one of the most important ages for development and learning. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!

Hi, my name is Payton Greeson, and this is my first year working at Calhoun Pre-K. I am the Special Education teacher to the Purple Octopus and Blue Cats class rooms. I am a Calhoun High School graduate of 2014. I went on to earn my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Georgia College and State University and graduated in 2017.

I just moved back home from Macon where I was working as a Registered Behavior Technician for Hopebridge. I have experience with working with Autistic children.

When not at school I love to read, go shopping, and drink coffee.

I am looking forward to being with the Purple Octopus and Blue Cat Classes this year!

Meet Ms. Karen:

Hi, my name is Karen Driggers and I am very excited to welcome you into our Pre-K family!

I have been an employee of Calhoun City Pre-K for thirteen years.  I began working as a substitute and within that year I was fortunate enough to secure a position as a Paraprofessional. Upon securing a position I realized that this was what I truly loved to do and continued my education at Georgia Northwestern Technical College where I received my Child Development Associates (CDA).

I have two daughters, Lindsey and Alison. They both graduated from Calhoun.  My oldest, Lindsey has made me a grandmother to a sweet baby boy Waylon. I LOVE being a "K-Ma".

We enjoy our family time together, whether it be at home or traveling to our most loved vacation spot, THE BEACH!!

It gives me an enormous sense of pleasure to welcome each child into the classroom setting and to play a part in the little person that they become during the year.  I firmly believe that establishing family involvement in the classroom goes a long way to providing a child with a sound foundation for their school career.

My contact information is driggersk@calhounschools.org or you may phone me at Calhoun City Pre-K@ 706-629-6563 if ever I may be of assistance to you.

Looking forward to another great Yellow Jacket year!!
