About CELA
Georgia’s Pre-K Program was established in 1993 to provide Georgia’s four-year-old children with high-quality preschool experiences. The goal of every Georgia Pre-K classroom is to provide students with the learning experiences they need to prepare for kindergarten. This unique program, funded by the Georgia Lottery for Education, is expected to serve over 84,000 children in this school year. Calhoun Pre K has 10 classes and serves 212 students. We believe in learning through play. We have a highly structured curriculum built around the GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards). All lessons are presented through developmentally appropriate activities.
Junior Jacket Academy
This year JJA serves the needs of students ages 2-4 years old. The goal of each Junior Jacket preschool classroom is to provide students with the learning experiences they need to be successful and ready to learn in Pre-K and beyond. Our teachers and assistants are experienced in the needs of our youngest learners and provide lessons and activities focused around the GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards). Providing a developmentally appropriate and safe learning environment for preschoolers is our top priority in Junior Jacket Academy.

Brown Bears

My name is Keri Robbins and I am one of the lead teachers of the Brown Bears class at Calhoun Pre-Kindergarten with my assistant, Virginia Acevedo. We are fortunate to have Lauren Dooley as another lead co-teacher and her assistant Ana Campos working in our classroom as well this year. We are so excited to have your child in our class!

Meet Mrs. Keri

I am Keri Robbins and while this is my first year teaching PreK, I have been an certified teacher since 2008 and have taught 3rd & 5th grades, as well as co-led the Gifted Program for CPES. I took a brief hiatus to stay home with my own children, but am so excited to return this year to the Brown Bear class. I have my B.S.Ed. from UGA, my M.Ed. from West Georgia and my Ed.S. from Piedmont College.

I am originally from Warner Robins, GA and made the move to Calhoun upon graduating from college. I am married to Matt Robbins, a graduate of Calhoun City Schools, and together we have Ryan (7), Greer (5) and Beau (2).
