About CELA
Georgia’s Pre-K Program was established in 1993 to provide Georgia’s four-year-old children with high-quality preschool experiences. The goal of every Georgia Pre-K classroom is to provide students with the learning experiences they need to prepare for kindergarten. This unique program, funded by the Georgia Lottery for Education, is expected to serve over 84,000 children in this school year. Calhoun Pre K has 10 classes and serves 212 students. We believe in learning through play. We have a highly structured curriculum built around the GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards). All lessons are presented through developmentally appropriate activities.
Junior Jacket Academy
This year JJA serves the needs of students ages 2-4 years old. The goal of each Junior Jacket preschool classroom is to provide students with the learning experiences they need to be successful and ready to learn in Pre-K and beyond. Our teachers and assistants are experienced in the needs of our youngest learners and provide lessons and activities focused around the GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards). Providing a developmentally appropriate and safe learning environment for preschoolers is our top priority in Junior Jacket Academy.

Spotted Cows

Hello! My name is Jodi Podskoc and I teach the Spotted Cows Pre-K class. This is my 10th year teaching and my 3rd year with Calhoun Schools. I received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West GA and my master's degree from Piedmont College. I am married to Timothy Podskoc and we have a little boy, "Haze." Haze is in kindergarten this year. Our family hobby is rodeo. We love to ride horses and travel. I look forward to an amazing year with my precious pre-k babies! Please contact me if you have any questions!

Hello, my name is Auti Harris, or Ms. Auti. I am twenty-one, I have been married for almost a year now. I have a daughter who will be turning two in December. I am a fan of literature, especially the classics. I am still in college, and I am excited to be a teacher in a few years. My favorite color is either red or yellow. My favorite food is sushi and shellfish. My favorite book, although it is not a classic, is Gossamer by Lois Lowry. Gone With The Wind is a close second. When I am at home, I am either studying or cleaning, but when I get free time, I am planning something fun for my daughter. I am very excited to be a part of the Spotted Cows and cannot wait to get to know my sweet students.
