CHS Swim and Dive Teams Traveled to Dalton High School
CHS Swim and Dive Teams traveled to Dalton High School on Friday and Saturday to compete against 9 other teams in the 2017 North Georgia Regional Championship.
On Friday night, Jaxon Holland and Joshua Tolson took first and second place in boys diving. Celeste Howe placed second in girls diving. Reese Duke placed first in the girls 500 yd freestyle prelims with a GHSA state qualifying time.
The excitement continued on Saturday with CHS girls leading all day during prelims and again Saturday night at finals. Calhoun girls took first place with 255 points over second place Dalton with 162 points. Allie Workman led with 28 points followed by Cassie Workman and Reese Duke with 25 points and Abigale Reid with 24 points.
CHS boys fought hard against friend and foe Dalton boys. Meeting for the first time this season, it was a battle until the end with CHS boys scoring 268 points over Dalton's 250 points. Spencer Brown and Jeremiah Petty swam new GHSA state qualifying times in the 200 I.M. Bo Dyar and Cal Parker led the team with 28 points each and Caleb Black with 25 points.
CHS senior boys and girls accepted both first place trophies as well as trophy for first place overall to end a great season!
CHS sends 23 swimmers to the GHSA Swimming and Diving State Championships at Georgia Tech on February 3-4, 2017.
