Message from the Superintendent
July 21, 2020
We are preparing for the 2021-2022 school year and hoping for some sense of normalcy.
It has definitely been a challenging year and we can’t say thank you enough for the continued support of our students, staff, parents and community. Working together we were able to keep our doors open to in-person instruction all year long. Way to go team! We ARE Calhoun and it’s great to be a Yellow Jacket!
Just like this past year, next year’s plan will be flexible, responsible, adaptable, and most importantly, safety-focused. Masks will not be required unless we see a resurgence of COVID cases. Fortunately, we have seen a decrease in the number of positive community COVID cases over the past several months. Please know that our first priority is the safety and health of all students and staff. While we are encouraged by the numbers we’ve seen as of late, we will continue to act responsibly. We will also continue to monitor COVID-19 data and seek the counsel of the Department of Public Health and COVID Task Force as we transition from the closeout phase of the past school year and onto planning for next year.
Calhoun City Schools has always set out to maintain a tradition of excellence while making things as personal as we can for our students, families, employees and other stakeholders. Thank you for your continued patience as we tread lightly and ease back into “normal.”
