Social Security Participation:
All Calhoun City Schools employees contribute to Social Security through payroll tax. Currently, 6.2% of your wages are withheld for Social Security, and Calhoun City Schools matches that amount, contributing an equal 6.2% on your behalf.
This helps you earn credits toward benefits like retirement income, disability, and survivor benefits through the federal Social Security program.
In addition to Social Security, eligible full-time employees will also be enrolled in a state retirement plan—either the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) or the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS), depending on your position.
