At Calhoun City Schools, we’re proud to invest in your health and well-being. The Calhoun City Board of Education contributes $1,885 per month—that’s $22,620 each year—for every employee enrolled in a State Health Insurance Plan. This generous contribution helps keep health insurance premiums low for our staff.
While the State reimburses school systems for Certified employees, it does not reimburse for Classified employees. To provide more flexibility and reward those who may have other coverage available, we established the Shared Savings Program.
The Shared Savings Program allows Classified employees who have access to other qualifying health coverage—such as through a spouse’s plan, Medicare, a parent's plan, or other employer-sponsored insurance—to decline coverage during Annual Enrollment and receive a cash incentive for participating.
This initiative not only supports your financial well-being—it also helps our district manage costs responsibly while continuing to invest in the people who make Calhoun City Schools a great place to work.
