Empowering Stakeholders to Lead with Purpose and Plan for the Future
CALHOUN, GA – On Monday, October 13, Calhoun City Schools hosted its annual Fall School Governance Team (SGT) Training, continuing the district’s commitment to student achievement through collaboration, transparency in decision-making, and strong community partnerships.
The training brought together members of the School and System Governance Teams, the Board of Education, and the College & Career Academy Board of Directors to strengthen understanding of governance roles and strategic planning efforts.
Discussion topics included the role of SGTs, succession planning, Board policies and self-assessment, preparation for Cognia Accreditation, Charter System funds and renewal, and feedback for the 2026–2027 school calendar.
