CHS students have recently been learning about elections and getting a firsthand look at the voting process. Last week, Student Government officers hosted a voter registration drive on National Voter Registration Day, giving students an opportunity to register during lunch.
On Thursday, seniors in American Government and Economics visited the Gordon County Courthouse for a Voter Outreach Event in recognition of Constitution Day. Shea Hicks, Chairman of the Gordon County Board of Elections, and Cody Oglesby, Board of Elections member, walked students through the voting process and the importance of civic participation. Students also had the chance to cast sample ballots using official voting machines.
