CCS Social Media Guidelines

Calhoun City Schools uses social media to share news, celebrate student achievements, and provide essential updates. We welcome community engagement and encourage civil, respectful discussion.

Our social media pages were established as a Limited Public Forum. While we do not discriminate based on viewpoint, we reserve the right to hide or remove comments that violate the following specific criteria:

  • Obscenity and Profanity: Content containing lewd, vulgar, or obscene language/images as defined by O.C.G.A. § 16-12-80.

  • Safety and Threats: Content that promotes illegal activity, encourages violence, or contains specific threats against students, staff, or public safety.

  • Harassment and Privacy: Posts that disclose personally identifiable information (PII) of students or staff, or engage in targeted harassment/cyberbullying (as prohibited by O.C.G.A. § 20-2-751.4).

  • Commercial Use: Unauthorized solicitations, advertisements, or spam.

  • Copyright Infringement: Content that violates intellectual property rights.

Kayla Ralston is the Director of School and Community Relations for Calhoun City Schools. A proud 2007 graduate of Calhoun High, she manages all district communications, social media, and the Partners in Education program. Kayla is dedicated to sharing the "Jacket Nation" story and strengthening ties between schools and the local business community.

She holds a degree from Kennesaw State and a Digital Marketing certification from Georgia Tech. Currently serving as President of the Georgia School Public Relations Association, Kayla was named the 2023 School Communicator of the Year. She is deeply involved in local leadership, serving on the United Way Board and several community committees.
