Per District policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) student records are only available to those who have authorization from the student or parent, guardian or responsible person if the student is less than 18 years of age. If the student is 18 years of age or older, school records will not be released to a parent, guardian, or responsible person without the student’s written consent.
Additional Information
Please read the following and submit your request through the appropriate organization/department to avoid delays with processing.
How to Request a Transcript/School Records/Education Verification
Effective July 1, 2019, former students, educational institutions and authorized third parties MUST request transcripts and education verifications online. Allow a minimum of three (3) to five (5) business days to process your request. This processing time may be shorter or longer depending on the volume of requests. Phone, mail and fax requests will NOT be accepted.
Using the link below, complete the online form, submit payment and receive updates as your request is processed.
Please note that third parties will be required to upload a student release form as part of the verification process.
Information on House Bill 91
On Monday, March 30, 2015, Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91 into law. The bill retroactively eliminates the Georgia High School Graduation Test as a requirement for graduation. This means students that did not receive a diploma based solely on not passing all required graduation tests can now petition the Calhoun City Schools Board of Education to determine their eligibility to obtain a diploma.
To petition for a diploma, individuals must:
Have entered 9th grade on or after July 1, 1981
Open the Petition for Diploma Form
Provide the information requested in the form
Submit the form
A confirmation will be returned once an individual’s petition is received
* Incomplete forms may encounter processing delays.
Once the petition is processed:
A local school counselor will notify the petitioner if they meet or do not meet graduation requirements.
If it is determined the petitioner meets those requirements, he or she will be able to receive an official transcript with their graduation date.
The petitioner will be provided an opportunity to order a diploma at the cost of the petitioner.
*Please be aware that May is the busiest time of year for our school counselors as they are processing information for our current students in regards to graduation. This, coupled with the high volume of House Bill 91 requests, may lead to a delay in the processing of petitions. Calhoun City Schools is working as quickly as it can to process your petition.
